I was scrolling through Google Earth when I stumbled upon an old, abandoned railroad track deep in the woods. It wasn’t on the map, the tracks were completely overgrown near what looks like an old railroad car, and when I zoomed in on the Google Earth satellite data, I saw something that stopped me in my tracks.
Was it a rendering error? A shadow? Or something else entirely?
I decided to pack my gear and head out to the exact coordinates to see what was actually waiting there. I wasn't prepared for what I found. It literally cuts through a dense forest and just… ends in the middle of a mountain. But when I zoomed in closer on the Google Earth satellite imagery, I saw that this was a part the historic Northern Pacific Railroad centuries old once using steam locomotives to climb up the steep mountain well over 6,000 ft. and now lying abandoned on a remote stretch of wilderness hides much more than I have thought!
People told me it was just a glitch. A rendering error. But I went out there to see it for myself. And what I found wasn't just a glitch—it was something that shouldn't exist. Today that's why, we’re trekking and exploring deep into the middle of nowhere to find out what’s hiding at the end of this once magnificent transcontinental railway line. The Hike isn't the worst and it was a beautiful day to explore amongst nature. Wandering through the ghostly railroad tunnels and canyons of a bygone era of the wild west from the 1890's brought me to a unique find. a hidden underground trace of past evidence and what people were doing up here long ago. Was this a massive railroad mistake? or was this discovery something simply lost to time that I found?
