I found something very cool on Marketplace. This is a 1956 Hammond S6 Chord Organ - the same model used by George Harrison to compose the Magical Mystery Tour Track "Blue Jay Way". I got it for free! Not only did it include the organ itself, which is in great shape overall, but it also included a breakout tone cabinet with a 1959 Jensen P-12P AlNiCo speaker. I've owned and traded in a few Hammond organs over the years, but this is the first time I've seen one of these, leading me to believe that although they were a good seller in their day, relatively few of them still exist today. The tones are generated with vacuum tubes and not a tonewheel like other more expensive model Hammonds such as the M Series and the L Series. While this is obviously no B3, C3, or A-100 level instrument, it has a really cool history, due in part to its connection to The Beatles, but also due to its relatively small size and the secret this particular example hides inside!
