During a short respite of the rain, I hiked with my dog Ruby into the Siamese Ponds Wilderness past 13th lake out to Puffer Pond finding the oldest leanto I’ve ever seen. It was in rough shape but we stayed there anyway getting a front row view of the full July moon.
The Ranger for the area stated that the leanto was built in the very early 1950’s and Leanto rescue had been contacted. They have not heard back from leanto rescue as of the filming of this video.
This is a beautiful isolated and peaceful area of the Adirondacks worth exploring.
