We’re back in Atomcraft, and this episode changes everything: I finally unlock electricity and immediately use it to build a ruby laser.

What begins as another complicated attempt to process bismuth, lead and selenium quickly turns into me firing a ridiculously powerful laser at ores, walls, trees and nearly the cows. The laser produces so much heat that I can use it to trigger chemical reactions, melt materials and mine deposits directly from cave walls.

I also continue refining my smelting setup, struggle to circulate gases through pumps, experiment with selenium dioxide and sulfur dioxide, and head underground searching for pyrolusite. After processing it into manganese, I can finally unlock a faster drill upgrade.

Naturally, by the time I finish the chemistry chain, I’ve almost forgotten why I needed the manganese in the first place.
