I tried one of the most popular carrot cakes (chai tow kway) in Singapore. 💰Get S$50 when you sign up for Revolut here: get.revolut.com/z4lF/ghib4
* S$20 min. spend, T&Cs and end date apply.
Today, I head to Yishun to try one of Singapore’s most talked-about hawker stalls - 618 SIM Carrot Cake. This stall is known for serving only white carrot cake, selling out early, and attracting queues that can go up to 2-3 hours.
I wanted to find out what makes this humble plate of chai tow kway so special, why people are willing to wait so long for it, and most importantly - is it actually worth the queue?
While exploring the area around Khatib/Yishun, I also check out another local favourite, 618 Hokkien Mee, and take a walk around the neighbourhood to see what else this underrated part of Singapore has to offer.
