I saw the commercials for Yars’ Revenge everywhere in the 80s… but I never actually owned it.
For decades I thought the rainbow bar in the middle was just a glitch. Turns out it’s the Neutral Zone, and that swirling pattern is actually recycled source code used to save cartridge memory.
Four kilobytes. That’s all they had.
Better late than never.
