Others who cleared this before me were Triskai, Hana, and probably Algebruh as well.

This is a new mode on Tetris Gym v5! The playfield fills up to a specified height with a perfect checkerboard pattern; it's considered to be the hardest possible board to clear.

At the beginning, you only have 2 empty rows at the top to work with. The best way to clear it is to use the top row glitch clear. When you fill the top row, the game glitches and clears both the very top row and the very bottom row, as well as trimming off any material left over at the top. So a single is good for a double, and brings the height of the stack way down! I got two of them here, and then the rest was just really, really careful downstacking.

I made some pretty spectacular errors, hesitations, and mistakes in the ensuing 15 minutes because of my nerves. It takes dozens of tries to get those first few lines, and I'm so used to choking at critical moments, that I was incredibly nervous the whole time. Kudos to my friends in VC (Skye, Hana, Meme, Maddy, and company) who talked me through staying calm and focused.

I forgot this was a level 19 start - 1,283,280 [PB] - NES Tetris

$I got a PAL maxout after three days of trying - NES Tetris Final score was 1,099,760 lol. This was after about 3 days of playing PAL lol this was a massive fluke. Id never even gotten *close* to 500k post in PAL, even during 19 start practice, let alone 293 lines lmfao This wasnt *strictly* PAL it was actually fractal161s speedhacked version of PAL NES Tetris, which uses scanline detection to refresh a 60 fps game of NESTris at the 50 fps that PAL *would* be running at on a european television. It also set the drop speeds and DAS rate to match that of the actual PAL version of the game but obviously I was rolling, so the DAS never went into play. I played the hack on an Everdrive on an NTSC NES console.$
