I drove nearly three hours from Middle Tennessee to Rome, Georgia to pick up something I've been wanting for my shop for quite a while — a Fume Dog PT portable welding fume extractor.
I've been doing welding and fabrication for years, and I've become much more conscious of how much welding smoke and fumes can build up in a shop. I decided it was time to do something about it.
In this video, I'm taking you along for the trip from my shop to Fume Dog's facility in Rome, Georgia. I'll explain why I decided to buy a fume extractor, why I chose Fume Dog, and give you a look at the journey to pick it up.
The next video will take you inside the Fume Dog facility for a tour and a look at how these machines are made.
Then we'll bring the extractor home, get it set up in the shop, and see how it performs in actual welding.
