don't ask me how but this was done in two nights and im beyond estatic to finally edit one half of the glorious double a duo! and yes, i know toby's scenes are shitty quality and it's beyond unfair they still haven't remastered that masterpiece in hd!

Miss Ann Green has been a governess to the Shaw family for the last year and a half and she usually spent her winters by the fireplace in the children's study room teaching everything spanning from literature, mathematics, geography and history to how to cheat in cards. This winter however was different; this winter was the first for the young Miss Shaw as an 18-year-old woman, and as such, she was to be properly presented in London's society. That's how Miss Ann Green had found herself standing in the middle of Lady Denwood's majestic ballroom pretending she was someone she indeed wasn't. Then again, it was a masquerede ball.
While her young ward was prattling away and winning over gentlmen's hearts, her fellow governess out of place Anne was trapped in a conversation with Lady Hargrove's old friends. The look on her friend's face was that of utter boredom and pain. Not wanting to end up with the same fate, Ann made her way out of the crowded ballroom to the long hallway, walking and walking until the music and chatter became but a faint distant noise. Her feet were tired and her tighs were itchy, the heavy dress she was wearing making her even more clumsier than usual. Fair to say she did not expect anyone to witness her usage of crude vocabulary and exhaustion in an abandoned dark salloon. She was, of course, wrong.
Earl Pembroke was not a man one could easily drag into something he did not want to do, at least that's what he was telling himself when his sister was listing everyone he ought to mingle with upon their arrival while her "companion" tried not to burst into a laughing fit at the faces he was making. Jane did not let him leave her side and to her credit, she did manage to drag him all over the place for about an hour. And even then he was caught by Georgiana (Jane's girlfriend) who he had to bribe into letting him off the hook. He did however promise to stay till the end this time, but he did not promise to spend all his time under the many candle lights of Lady Denwood's ballroom. He also promised himself not to laugh when a muttered curse was followed by a very distinct sound of a shoe hitting the wooden floor. He failed.
And that's how the series of unfortunately fortunate encounters between a cheeky disasterous lord and an angry tired governess began.
(to ensure felicity's success, mrs and mr shaw drag ann into an overly complicated scheme of her being felicity's cousin.... and lydia complicates things even further by spreading rumours that she was a countryside heiress. granted pembroke doesnt take long to figure it all out - doesnt stop him from teasing the hell out of her either)
