Over the moaning of my radiator, I moan myself about how the Brontës are discussed on BookTube and in popular culture, including:

-Overlooking Anne (Ellis and I are not fans of this);
-Constructing these authors in our own images of perfection;
-Pitting the sisters against each other;
-Lazily distinguishing them;
-Treating their novels like autobiography;
-Dismissing their work;
-And treating Brontë romances like models for real relationships (love yourselves, people)

Books Mentioned:
-Take Courage: Anne Brontë and the Art of Life by Samantha Ellis
-The Brontës: Wild Genius on the Moors: The Story of a Literary Family by Juliet Barker
-Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë
-The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë
-Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
-Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
-Villette by Charlotte Brontë
