Cycling the world - Asia: episode 46
After finally repairing my sleeping pad in Duqm, I return to the road hoping the worst is behind me. A welcome tailwind helps me make fast progress across the Omani desert, but scorching humidity, blowing sand and endless kilometres still make every day a challenge. For the first time in days I enjoy a full night’s sleep before discovering a surprising sight: huge areas of the desert flooded by recent rains, creating marshes where only sand should exist. As I continue toward the east coast of Oman, I end another long day camping beside a dry wadi under the desert sky.
