I haven’t driven a Tesla with Full Self-Driving in years, and as someone who daily drives a Rivian, I was genuinely curious how far Tesla has come with FSD V14. So while I’m out in California for Rivian’s Autonomy & AI Day, I decided to rent a 2026 Tesla Model Y with FSD through Turo and put it to the test.
After driving over 100 miles using FSD, I’m honestly shocked. Tesla absolutely nailed it. The driving felt confident, predictable, and far more reliable than I ever expected. This is the first time I’ve experienced driver-assist tech that truly feels like the future.
In this video, I walk through my full experience with FSD V14, break down what impressed me most, and share where it still needs work. I also talk about what this means for Rivian as they head into Autonomy & AI Day, and why the bar has officially been raised.
