I designed some button up shirts, and I you get to pick which to make:)
Romney and I went on a lil trip to see my buddy who knows all about making clothing. His name is Gaby.
Gaby is super rad. he has a lil clothing brand named Okito that he has been doing for a couple years now.. and everything he makes is just top notch.
We've been talking for a while about making a collaborations. Basically we ended up on decided on doing a button up shirt with a rad pattern for a summer ish feel of thing.
So first I went and talked to him to make sure what I wanted to do would work.. and.. were good. So I started drawing up designs that I thought might look cool on a button up tee.
One thing I thought would be cool would to do something with the fruit the guanabana. For those who don't know... I lived in Colombia for a couple years. So I picked out some fruit that they use in their juices that are so so good. And thought I could incorporate that into the design. Like the seeds from the guanoabana. We'll see if that works out.
By taking the initial design and repeating it over and over again like that should make it so I have an infinite pattern that can go on forever and ever.
By taking the square with the points on the parts that repeat, I should be able to use that square to repeat the pattern. So I get a nice pattern for the shirt.
I also use the seed pattern for a shirt. Now for the squiggly pattern.
I used the pen and the pencil tool for most of this. The idea was to get a square that I could repeat over and over again... and.. nice. it worked.
Try that again with the cat. Make a lil... cat... pattern... thing.
Once I got the lines I added the color. Now arrange them into something I can use to copy the pattern. I made them all white just so they would be easier to work with.
Thought that if I clumped them into a group I could use that group to repeat it over and over again to make that repeating pattern. Color it in now... andddd now get the shape the I can repeat. This time is was like a diamond.
I took the black lines out cause I thought it looked better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Now for the guanabana. That was the fruit I decided to go with. It makes such a good juice...
And just reapeating the pattern over and over again.... and nice:)
This is an old design I used for a brand that didn't end up using it.. So I thought I would re purpose it:)
I want you guys to decide which shirt it made! if you like the Plant design leave a comment that says "Plants". For the cat shirt, "Cats". for the Guanabana shirt, "Fruit". for the squiggly one, "cool". for the camp one, "Camo". and for the seed one, "seeds":)
