In May, I set a goal to declutter over a thousand items from my life. Over 10% of those items ended up being books! Since I watched a TON of declutter videos while doing my own declutter, I thought I would share my book unhaul with y'all. Maybe it will inspire you to donate some of the excess out of your life? Maybe you'll just get mad because I decluttered one of your favorites? Either way, here's the book unhaul.
Other information about my declutter if you're looking to do something similar:
*For the month of May I decluttered a decreasing number of items every single day. On May 1st, I decluttered 62. On May 2nd, I decluttered 60. May 3rd, 58. And so on. That came out to just about 1,000 items. As the month drew on, decluttering got easier and easier and there were many days where I decluttered more than I needed to. I've never read Marie Kondo's book so I wasn't doing exactly the Konmari method. But I did try and consider every item in my space and determine whether it had value in my life.
In total, I decluttered 1,234 items in May (funny number, I know). I also got rid of a subsequent 250(ish) in June. I donated most of the items and recycled or threw away anything damaged or expired. It was an awesome goal and my life has absolutely improved since completing it. Highly recommend!
