Is ceramic window tint actually worth the money? We take our 2022+ VB Subaru WRX out in a brutal 109°F heatwave to get a professional nano-ceramic tint installation and see if it can finally stop the cabin from feeling like an oven.
Driving around with bare factory glass means you are essentially roasting in the sun. In this video, we head inside the garage at Clear Choice Designs in Tucson to watch the step-by-step professional installation process. The installers show us how high-tech digital plotters cut the film precisely and share the secret to heat-shrinking curved glass "fingers" to prevent dirt and bubbles from ruining the finish.
To keep the car looking aggressive but completely safe for night driving, we chose a dark limousine tint visor strip on the windshield, 35% on the front side windows, and 20% around the back. Stick around for the real-world driving test to see how we went from cranking the AC at maximum down to just level 3 in 109-degree weather!
