**I Can Thank the Cup** is an original song created from Makis Gibs’ electric guitar improvisation *A Teacup, Two Windows, and an Open Road.*
I wrote and recorded the vocals to his guitar and we turned it into this moody little 1920s noir world — a rainy night, a hidden speakeasy, a woman singing, and a man quietly lost in thought.
Makis sent me the guitar stems so I could build the final mix, with Brian Grass helping me bring everything together.
I love getting to step into these different worlds through Makis’ improvisations and explore another side of myself with each song.

Both wav-Dr. and I have encountered rejection in our musical endeavors. We have faced criticism for our vocals, lyrics, and playing, but we have always accepted it as a natural part of the creative process. However, what truly dampens the spirit in the music industry is not the rejection that stems from falling short of expectations or not meeting someone elses standards. No, what truly stings is encountering jealousy – not the typical envy where someone covets what you possess and attempts to undermine you, although that is certainly unpleasant. I am referring to the kind of jealousy that arises when individuals believe you should not be allowed to pursue your artistic path. In my extensive experience with music and the industry, I have witnessed nothing more disheartening than witnessing people trample on someones dreams, hard work, and efforts simply because they deem it inappropriate.
