Read research papers faster with AI. Paper Highlighter is a free Chrome extension built by KGP Talkie that analyzes a full research paper PDF and highlights the lines that matter.
A 15 page paper usually takes an afternoon. In this video I run the whole thing end to end: installing the extension, connecting it to a local Ollama model so your PDFs never leave your computer, opening "Attention Is All You Need" from arXiv, and running the analysis. You also get the settings that most people miss. The default highlighting is sparse, so I show you how to switch it to every sentence and go from 4 highlights to 28 on the same paper. If you do not have an AI model installed, the extension falls back to a heuristic mode and I show that too. Everything here is the complete setup, so you can follow along and have it working by the end of the video.
