I finally took the SCX30 out with the new upgraded 050 motor and decided to do something a little different…
Instead of just sending it over random terrain, I statigically stacked rocks and built a more realistic scale micro crawling course—and honestly?
It completely changed the experience 😳
The smaller, more scale-focused obstacles made the SCX30 feel WAY more realistic and way more fun to drive. The lines became more technical, the crawling looked more natural, and the upgraded motor really got to shine.
This unreleased 050 motor is exactly what I wanted for these tiny rigs:
✅ smooth startup
✅ controllable low speed
✅ great throttle feel
✅ plenty of usable power
And paired with a properly scaled course, it honestly made micro crawling click for me in a way it hadn’t before.
Turns out…
