In this video, I attempt to build an enormous LEGO WW2 Iwo Jima MOC inspired by one of the most brutal battles of the Pacific War — and I have just 12 HOURS to get it finished!
The Battle of Iwo Jima saw the United States Marine Corps launch a massive amphibious invasion of the heavily fortified Japanese island in February 1945. For this LEGO WW2 battle, I wanted to recreate the chaos of the initial US Marine amphibious landings, the volcanic beaches, Japanese defensive positions, bunkers, trenches, artillery positions and intense close-quarters fighting across the island.
To bring the battle to life, I'm using my brand-new WW2 Japanese Army minifigures and WW2 USMC Marine minifigures, available from ScotsPlastic.com. The build is packed with custom military minifigures, weapons, fortifications, explosions, landing craft and hundreds of LEGO pieces as I try to turn a pile of bricks into a realistic World War 2 Pacific battlefield.
Can I actually build an entire LEGO Iwo Jima battle in only 12 hours, or have I completely underestimated how much work goes into a massive LEGO WW2 MOC?
This video includes everything from designing the battlefield and constructing the terrain to positioning the Japanese defenders, launching the American Marine Corps amphibious assault, adding military vehicles, building defensive fortifications and finally creating the finished LEGO WW2 battle scene.
