THE RECIPE 🔥🔪
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Ingredients:
4 oranges
1 lemon
1 apple, 1 kiwi, 1 pear (or whatever selection of fruits you want)
100ml brandy
100ml dark rum
100ml sweet red vermouth
1 bottle red wine (ideally young and fruity)
1 cinnamon stick
3 Tbs sugar
Soda water to taste
Process:
1. Juice the four oranges and pour into a bowl (or jug -- but I’ll say bowl from now on for simplicity's sake)
2. Drop the skin of a quarter of the orange into the bowl
3. Juice 1 lemon and pour into the bowl
4. Drop the skin of a quarter of the lemon into the bowl
5. Peel and chop your fruit into small pieces and drop into the bowl
6. Pour the brandy, rum, vermouth into the bowl
7. Drop the cinnamon stick into the bowl
8. You can add the sugar directly to the bowl, or create a sugary syrup by dissolving the 3 Tbs of sugar into 3 Tbs of water by heating it on the stove. And then pour the sweet water in.
9. Add the bottle of wine
10. Cover the bowl and leave it in the fridge. The deal is the longer you leave it, the richer the flavours are going to get. At least 4-6 hours, but overnight and it’ll be amazing
11. To serve, add ice to a glass and a slice of fruit, pour in the sangria (but not the macerated fruit). Top up with a touch of soda water if you want to knock back the intensity a bit (or not - it tastes amazing straight too!)
