Backrooms Movie Review (SPOILERS)
After years of anticipation, the Backrooms movie is finally here. In this spoiler-filled review, I break down my honest thoughts on the film, including what I loved, what didn’t quite work for me, and whether I think it lives up to the hype for longtime Backrooms fans.
The atmosphere, visuals, and overall presentation of the Backrooms were easily the highlight of the movie for me. Seeing these iconic liminal spaces brought to life on the big screen was an incredible experience, and there are several moments that perfectly capture the unsettling feeling that made the Backrooms such a massive internet phenomenon.
That said, I was less invested in the plot than I hoped I would be. While the story has its moments, I found myself wishing there was more focus on exploring the Backrooms themselves and less emphasis on other elements. I’ll discuss what worked, what didn’t, and why I still believe this is a movie that Backrooms fans should absolutely check out.
