ZhusI fixed my previous 3x3 door that was broken in the updated snapshots. Since this works in the full 1.11, I also added a quick tutorial on how to make it. The dimensions are 7x9x1, 63 blocks total. I also tried to make this door the fastest it can be at this size. So far, I have not seen any trouble with orientation or location bugs breaking the door.
This is no longer the smallest 3x3 door. That record now belongs to SacredRedstone. He was able to shave one block off the bottom to make it layout size. If you want to check out his door, go on synergyserver(dot)net server and check out his plot!

'Hipster' means from the ground, and 'semi' means its not completely flush with the ground. You need a wall or carpet to hid the one piston. Tell me if you want a tutorial on any of these designs.
Turns out, someone had the same lever actuated design I made. Here is his video: youtu.be/5I2O0Vq2xwo My button actuated designs are unique though :)[Broken] 3x3 Piston Door (63 Blocks) w/ Observer [16w40a]Zhus2016-10-13 | Just wanted to showcase the current smallest 3x3 piston door in the new snapshot. I'm pretty certain it cannot be made any smaller, but who knows. If I get a lot of requests, I'll make a tutorial. The door is 1x7x9 blocks, and works in all orientations, at least as far as I have tested.

EDIT: This door only works in the 16w40a snapshot. I made an update to this door here: youtu.be/HZs6P8w4gMU This door is actually still the fastest of the size, since observers were instant in this snapshot.MCPE: Tiny & Fast 3x3 v2 [Tutotial] (Windows 10/ Pocket Edition)Zhus2016-07-06 | I have improved the 2 wide 3x3, making 100% reliable yet only 1 block taller. I managed to make it 2 wide. However, there are some bugs in PE that make it unreliable. It has a small chance of fail, and the opening is very derpy. I will be trying to make it more reliable, but I am confident this is the smallest it can get :DMCPE: 2x2 Seamless & Flush Piston DoorZhus2016-06-25 | More Pocket Edition redstone doors coming soon :)MCPE: Tiny & Fast 3x3 Piston Door [Showcase] (Windows 10 / Pocket Edition)Zhus2016-06-23 | This is a showcase. If I get enough requests, I will upload a tutorial video on how to build it, with much better editing. Im just wondering if there are actually people interested in PE redstone. I see some great potential in it, and a few bugs :P. This is a chest block glitch where you glitch through chests. I think it works by updating the hit box of the chests. For it to work, follow to tutorial and these directions: 1. Stand with you cursor on the 2 wide chest and your back on the wall of chests. 2. slide back and forth on the wall of chests, and keep your cursor on the chest in front of you. 3. When you start to spaze, move your cursor off and on the chest in front of you. 4. you should be able to back straight through the chests.
Note: it works in any orientation It works with any type of chest- depending on what type of chest is in front of you. Make sure when you spaze, it is in between the two chests. it does not work if you are between the wall and the chests.
If you saw the video, you may realize this is NOT entirely flush with the floor. I thought this was a good design if you wanted a compact triple piston extender from the floor that is the
