AmusementInsider | HYPERIA: EXTENDED LAYOUT - Thorpe Park - NoLimits 2 Alternate Ending @AmusementInsider | Uploaded August 2024 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
Had some fun in NoLimits 2 and extended Thorpe Park Hyperia's ending. Already one of my favorite roller coasters, I try to match the pacing style of Hyperia and its massive elements with an ending that includes 4 more main elements to really make the ride feel more complete, while trying to limit the extra cost that it would require.
It extends the layout an additional ~400 meters at the end and keeps the same footprint, avoiding the wetlands/water area in the center. The splashdown that hasn't been working is removed, and I add a much-needed straight-airtime moment here.
An overbanked dive that reuses the supports from the outerbank hill for cost-saving takes you under the large supports, and then through speedy S-Turns. Then an upwards zero-g roll and final S-Airhill/Dive Loop combo is added. Some elements were also chosen to retain the look of the massive wall of track and supports as you walk up to the ride as well, one of the coolest aspects to the design.
