This unique commentary from God of War 1 game director, David Jaffe, is only present in the demo version of the game, from 2004. I decided to upload it because I think many people might not know of it (I didn't know of it until a few days ago), and it is a really interesting commentary.

David Jaffe's main points are:
- The Hydra level was the very last level designed in the game, and although it is technically amazing, he thinks it suffered from being too simple.
- One of the main goals for the first level was to establish what the game is about, both in gameplay (it's not just fighting) and in Kratos' character (he is extremely brutal).
- Originally the game would start right in the middle the Hydra battle, but he thought the players would get lost in the controls.
- He thought about having a little fairy to relay tutorial messages, and she would get killed violently after the first Hydra, but it was scraped.
- He commented on the God doors where Kratos gets his magics, and said they were a lot harder to create than they look.
- There was skepticism about starting the game with a big boss battle, both internally and in the initial press showings, but he thinks it can work.
