Project One - Fantasy Or Reality
“As the dream bodies hover between the dream world
And the dawning awareness of their own tragic situation
Fantasy and reality fluctuate.”
For many hardstyle lovers, it was one of the tracks that got them into the scene. To others, it was one of the many highlights of the Project One album. ‘Fantasy or Reality’ has brought musical ecstasy to the dance floor, luring its listeners into a melancholic maze - stuck between fantasy or reality. In that same state, is where its creators - Willem and Joram - found themselves in during their lock-up in the studio. To make sure that a collaboration wouldn’t turn into a challenge between two musicians, they came up with a funny system.
Willem: “We’ve never been in a fight. We’re not the types to make a fuss about something. But of course, we did have our disagreements in the studio. That’s why we came up with a system of points. Each of us would get a number of points, and if there was one thing in the production that you absolutely wanted done, you’d lose a point. Of course, after a while, you’re out of points and there’s no preeminence anymore. It was quite an efficient way, but we mostly did it for fun. Seems like it worked!”
