As the 2020 Pacific Ocean hurricane season commences, a highly skilled aircrew with the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron Hurricane Hunters at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, flew their WC-130J Weatherbird aircraft into Hurricane Douglas from Barbers Point Airport Kapolei, Hawaii — the data, collected for Central Pacific Hurricane Center, will be used to more accurately predict the intensity and trajectory of the storm.
