I'm in "Tosh Town" aka Belmont/Bluefields Jamaica today, walking along the shore after Hurricane Melissa made a direct hit on this south west coast. It's famous for being the home of Peter Tosh, beautiful beaches, a Rastafarian community, and even where his body was laid to rest in a mausoleum.
I’m sharing this so these stories are seen and remembered, and so the impact of Hurricane Melissa on everyday Jamaicans isn’t forgotten. People need help. They've been without power for over 8 weeks already, and it may be months before it comes back.
