I've always wanted to edit this movie, this pair, with that song. But I recently just really thought about it and I went "Why not?" around a week ago when I rewatched the movie. So, here is a edit with one of my all time fave movies from a song that was also in another of my all time movies. How fitting.
That being said, the movie leans heavily towards the same named short story by Angela Carter and is practically a more sinister and more adult version of the fairytale "Little Red Riding Hood" that also has some elemetns of horror. It also brings in the aspects of womanhood, view upon society and the general issues growing up all packed into symbolism and metaphors. Despite the story here movie-wise being a "story-in-a-story", I love it to pieces.
Oh, and our heroine is just so much fun and her view on power so relatable while the movie also gave the Huntsman some depth despite not having much screentime. And who could resist the chemistry? ;)
Also, let my just rant how much I adore Rosaleen's mother! She gave her daughter so much better advise than the granny (not that all of her granny's warnings were bad but it seemed like all her stories only had to offer fear for Rosaleen). And her mother also adapted so quick seeing her daughter become a wolf herself at the end??? The secret MVP of the movie. :D

Time for a confession: Im writing a story.
And therefor I just decided to faceclaim my characters because why not. It is fun.
I have no idea when this will be finished. But one day I was like How about I make a mixture of fairy tales and the personification of divines in known tropes and bring it together? with How about a Death and the Maiden story where Persephone does not get abducted into the Underworld but instead goes there by herself to seek help and vexes Hades for fun?
In a world where humans dont exist, the people pray to Mokosh (divinity of rain; in some forms exists in slavic lore). Mokosh only gives rain when the rightful ruler sits on the throne. It all leads to a riddle that is meant to be solved.
Krylia and Fero are siblings. Krylia, abused by her malicious aunt Pseudje, is determined to bring Fero on the throne. As elf/fairy without wings she is an outcast whose only friends are the ravens she always feeds. Linked to the Death Master themselves, Krylia decides to seek help by the Underworld to fight for the crown.

This is meant as character tribute and, while some scenes are like I imagined them, it is definitely not in the right order. And the ending leads to some other twists in the story, so what you see here and think is happening is not the ending!
Also, Krylia is a little shit that delivers bad puns whenever the situation proves to be the worst. (She has to match the Grim Reapers sarcasm! You look like Death himself. You dont say!)
The song is a German one. I know using an English one is better for popularity but it only felt right to pick one in my native language. Especially when the band just released a whole album with songs about fairy tales. Seven Ravens is based upon a fairy tale but I only used the refrain because ravens always appear in the story.
There flew seven ravens.
Those will be my brothers.
This is basically the song text. I did not use more. It is a never-ending repeat. Though, I have to add: Krylia only has one brother - Fero. With brothers I associate the term companions here. Because the ravens (Nekren) and the shadows (Charen) will be her friends.

The song I used here is from Buffy - The Vampire Slayer (yes, the musical episode). It was the part when Spike and Buffy finally get closer but Buffy was unsure about her feelings/life situation and Spike was sick of just being someone to solve her problems when she was in need (cause he was already in love with her).
Blame it on some fanfictions I used this song for them. But it matched both very well. And I set Pitchs lair as Spikes grave here. xP
Buuuut I was tempted to switch some SebastianxCiel in it at the You know you got a willing slave. - line in it. ^ ^

I fell back into a terrible Firefly phase and all my Rayne feelings considering the utter and lost possibility of them came back. Everybody agrees that this genius series got cancelled too soon and, in terms of that, most of the greatly written characters never got the possibility to truly develop beyond the movie that answered the questions focusing on River.
So, this is a very extendet version of their dynamic with an obvious twist towards the end (edited by me, so I make them happen). It starts with Jayne not trusting River and wanting her gone from the ship since she only brings trouble. Following the betrayal on Ariel, it focuses more on what Jayne learned about what the Academy did to her and they somehow manage it get along. Trouble and attraction and shenanigans follow. The usual. :D
Besides that, can you imagine what could have been if there had been more seasons? Jayne may be a brute but it was hinted that he saved his money for his family (mother and possibly siblings), so, in the end, all he does is to provide for those he cares about. Which makes him very similiar to Simon already who risked everything to get River back. Now, imagine what could have been if Jayne and Simon and River had to work together and see the similarites and also differences (I do believe Jayne grew up in a stable family compared to whatever Rivers parents planned with their children) and there slowly develops a trust. Just imagine Jayne turning from being the one who wanted those two away the most in the beginning turning into the one that tries to protect them the most. The possibilities! The feels!
On the other hand, I also love the dynamic of a man as dangerous as Jayne finding his personal nightmare in a girl like River who is an absolute menace if necessary. Plus, they can be really fun together. Exactly my kind of story.

First of all I have to say that I started to edit this last week but I had such a bad time schedule that I just finished it now. Because of this the clips from the new episode are near the end. But the talk about staying away just went perfectly with this song. xDD
And, wow, 1x12 was such a tumult. I think things gonna be sad next episode and definitely with a huge cliff hanger (luckily the second season was announced).
Actually this is a song I originally choosed for Amenadiel and Maze but the lack of scenes leaded to a video for both couples and I think it actually suits it. (Plus, I wont recover from the pained look on Maze and Amenadiels faces when she betrayed him because she didnt know what to do - she had to force herself to it and she clearly didnt want to because somehow she actually cares about him... Argh, this angst!)
And Im so curious with the deal between Chloe and Lucifer. Is he vulnerable because he has some serious feeling for her or is she some kind of supernatural being in the end? The next episode will tell. :D

Edit: Just reading the posts about what happens in 3x07 right now makes me laugh over how much that line from the songs fits. I just KNEW. xD
That being said, not only am I applying clown make-up for them, I dive my head into the powder. But only because I want to watch Alys succeed in her schemes. xDDD
For real, the writing of this show is a disaster by now. But this two makes it personally worth it to keep watching. I just love how Alys uses all her manipulation to get what she wants, even if it resulted into giving an almost cliché dark romance speech at the end of the last episode (no hate, avid romantasy reader here, but let us call it for what it was). But, damn, if Aemond wasnt into it like the degenerate he is. And those two are just delicious together. Their chemistry is so well done.
Still a bit worried about the next episodes. Though, given how many years Im into fandoms now and how many truly questionable things I read already, nothing the show brings on will be worse than what my mind can conjure. (I say while cracking over what screwed-up mommy issues Alys will push Aemond to with Alicent on her way to Harrenhal. This joke writes itself at this point.)
That all being said, while the edit does focus on the problematic aspects of both their characters, I still hoped to somehow deliver their states of both being lost and outsiders wherin a bond strangely formed. :)

Lets be real, this show turned so terrible that it became impossible to justify. The only reason I keep up with it is Cahir since they butchered the Hansa and the Lodge completely. Never cared about the rats because they have always been despicable and I KNEW that Netflix had to turn Ciris relationship with M*stle into some tragedy because, apparently, women cant be toxic to their kind. Which also explains why Yennefer still works with the Lodge, when, in reality, she goes against them to protect Ciri, But, hey, cant have women be toxic and manipulative with each other, right?
But they butchered the Hansa. The one thing I truly looked forward to because all of them tried to be better since they helped to find Ciri to find forgiveness in their past and so the bonding felt real, and sometimes it was even funny, and they were true friends for Geralt who was at his lowest (absolute contrast to the rats). Its just so frustrating how the friendship and rebirth was butchered in the themes of Baptism of Fire since it was my fave book in the series for that reason.
So, what: Im not gonna take this edit seriously either.
Watch the themes change from Ciri mourns all that happened to strangest enemies with friendship-benefit dynamic ever to some lore because of lyrics to Ciri spares Cahir because she can make him suffer more when he lives to Ciri wholeheartly screws up time and space and abuses her power to save Cahir from his fate to they settle it all and be happy. Seriously, I could NOT decide upon the theme of this edit.
So, rant over. Actually, I do not want to rage but I hate how it feels like all adaptions nowadays are terrible. I just want to enjoy and to create. So, I do hope some will like this edit.
