Distorted Devotion | Hungarian Dance No. 5 [Viola Rock / Metal] - Johannes Brahms | Distorted Devotion @DistortedDevotion | Uploaded May 2022 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
Hungarian Dance No.5 by Johannes Brahms for viola and heavy rock guitars. A lot of classical composers have made some pretty awesome metal tracks, #Brahms being no exception. His fifth Hungarian Dance works really well as a #rock or #metal #cover with some #distortion, heavy drums and the #viola taking the lead.
Working on this track I was surprised how dissonant and heavy this tune actually is. It sounds so festive on the surface, but is actually really #dark when you look into the chord progressions and how the notes fit.
It isn't unusual for classical composers from the romantic era like Beethoven, Chopin, Paganini (!), Rachmaninoff or Grieg to write dark classical music works that are excellent rock tracks, but it doesn't happen often the darkness of a theme is hidden so well in the arrangement and orchestration chosen for the piece.
Hope you like my neoclassical rock / metal edition of this beautiful track!
