Hundreds of protesters marched around the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on Monday.

The protest came after University President Minouche Shafik sent an email to the Columbia community urging students to disperse from the encampment by 2 p.m. or face interim suspension.

Dozens of students stayed in the encampment after the deadline had passed. According to a University spokesperson, the school has started to suspend students.
