Norwegians gathered outside the Royal Palace in Oslo on Friday, August 28, to pay tribute to King Harald V, leaving flowers, candles and Norwegian flags after the monarch's death at the age of 89.

Hundreds of mourners visited the palace throughout the day, creating a growing memorial of bouquets, drawings and personal messages in honour of the king, who reigned for more than three decades. Children were among those laying flowers, while some visitors paused to take photographs and reflect.
