Unlike other birds, hummingbirds are not likely to take a sip from your bird bath. That's because they get all the liquid they need from their diet of nectar. Hummingbirds still need to keep clean, though, and will gladly come splash around in a shallow bird bath with a gentle spray. In the wild, hummingbirds clean themselves by taking rain showers or rubbing against wet leaves!
