Discover how Infineon Technologies is enabling the robots of the future with an intelligent humanoid robot head demo that combines radar sensing, 3D vision, motor control, and AI.
In this video, we showcase a humanoid head equipped with three radar sensors that provide 360‑degree awareness, detecting and tracking moving targets around the robot. The closest moving target is automatically identified and used to drive motor control, allowing the robot’s face to smoothly turn toward it.
To enhance perception, a Time‑of‑Flight (ToF) camera adds depth sensing, infrared imaging, and 3D representation, enabling features such as face recognition, mapping, obstacle detection, and collision avoidance.
The motion system is powered by Infineon PSOC™ M33 motor control, driving multiple motors and enhanced with a magnetic angle sensor to precisely track the robot’s head position and orientation.
On top of that, the PSOC™ Edge AI kit adds on‑device AI and voice recognition. The robot can listen, understand voice commands, and respond, demonstrated by changing LED colors through spoken instructions.
