Oh Hi! So a lot of these eating videos on YouTube eat food that doesn't even belong in the country. Therefore, I decided to change the game and bring you guys ACTUAL dutch food.
Foods in this video in order of appearance:
Broodje Haaring - Pickled Herring Sandwich
Chocomel - Dutch Chocolate Milk
Appelgebak - Apple Pie but it's Dutch Food
Stroopwafel - A waffle made from two thin layers of baked dough with a caramel-like syrup filling in the middle. It is popular in the Netherlands, where they were first made in the city of Gouda.
Ontbijtkoek - Breakfast Cake is a Dutch spiced cake. Rye is its most important ingredient, coloring the cake in light brown. It is often spiced with cloves, cinnamon, ginger, succade and nutmeg. Several parts of the Netherlands have their own local recipe, of which the most famous is "Oudewijvenkoek" (old wives' cake) which is mostly eaten in the northern regions, and is flavored with aniseed. Ontbijtkoek is traditionally served at breakfast with a thick layer of butter on top, as a replacement for bread. However, due to its sweet taste it is also served as a snack.
Lays Mamma Mia Chips - Temperamental treat with an Italian touch. Delicious and crispy of potatoes prepared, with Italian flavors of cheese and peppers. Put them down at the Italian drink for that wonderful holiday feeling.
Doritos Cool American - Doritos Cool Ranch but then a bit different taste.
Eierkoek - Egg Cookie/Cake is airy, round cakes made from eggs, sweetener, flour, rennet, lemon and salt. Additional additives can be used, such as milk and / or raisins. The characteristic shape is flat and bottomed from above. The color is golden yellow and the diameter is between 10 and 20 cm.
Casteeltje - Castle Cake with Raspberry and it is just something I found in the bakery!
Venz Hagelslag - Venz Breakfast Chocolate Sprinkles; Dutch hagelslag (sprinkles) was invented in 1936 by Gerard de Vries for Venz, a Dutch company made popular by said treat. Hagelslag is used on bread. Most of the time butter is spread out so the hagelslag does not fall off. After much research and venture, de Vries and Venz created the first machine to produce the tiny cylindrical treats. They were named hagelslag after their resemblance to a weather phenomenon prominent in the Netherlands: hail. Only hagelslag with a cacao percentage of more than 32% can bear the name chocoladehagelslag (chocolate sprinkles). If the percentage is under the 32%, it has to be called cacaofantasie or cacaofantasiehagelslag (cacao fantasy sprinkles).
aaaaaand this did not make the final cut because not Dutch enough but:
Italian Kinder Surprise Eggs Chocolate also known as a Kinder Egg or, in the original Italian, Kinder Sorpresa (sorpresa being Italian for "surprise"), is a candy manufactured by Italian company Ferrero. It was invented by William Salice (1933–2016)[1] and is one of several candies sold under the Kinder Chocolate brand. Intended for children, it is also popular with adult collectors[2] and has the form of a chocolate egg containing a small toy, usually requiring assembly.
