Pete's review of Hubris on Meta Quest 2 and PSVR2: Cyborn's narrative sci-fi shooter with swimming, platforming and hoverbikes.
Gorgeous environments and superb audio, undone by weightless jumping and forgettable characters.
Hubris is Cyborn's genre-stuffed sci-fi adventure — shooter, platformer, underwater sections, hoverbike chase — set across two alien planets in some of the prettiest environments Quest 2 has rendered. Pete tested it on both Meta Quest and PSVR2, and the PSVR2 version wins on visuals and haptics while both suffer from weightless jumping, inconsistent grab detection and characters with the emotional range of a beige sock. A jack of all trades that doesn't master any of them.
