The new Huawei backed Stelato G9 has arrived with 586 horsepower, advanced autonomous driving technology and up to 1,366 kilometers of combined range. Starting at 429,800 yuan, the massive luxury sport utility vehicle is taking aim at some of China’s most capable premium off road models.
The Stelato G9 officially goes on sale with 10 configurations covering fully battery electric and extended range electric powertrains. The fully electric model features a 120 kilowatt hour battery with up to 728 kilometers of China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle range, while the extended range version can deliver up to 405 kilometers of battery only driving and 1,366 kilometers of combined range.
Huawei technology plays a major role in the G9. The sport utility vehicle features an 800 volt Giant Whale battery platform, dual motor all wheel drive, Huawei Advanced Driving System 5.0, a new generation dual path light detection and ranging system and 38 high precision sensors.
Performance is equally impressive, with a combined maximum output of 437 kilowatts, equivalent to 586 horsepower, and acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in under 5 seconds.
The Stelato G9 also introduces Huawei’s all terrain Tuling platform with dual chamber air suspension, continuously variable damping and 130 millimeters of adjustable ride height. Inside, buyers can choose between 5 seat and 6 seat configurations, with dual zero gravity front seats and an onboard compressor refrigerator fitted as standard.
With rivals including the Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8 and Tank 700, could the Stelato G9 become one of the most important luxury off road sport utility vehicles coming out of China?
