The Führer der Schnellboote (Commander of the E-boats) in Scheveningen was tasked with coordinating the motor-torpedo boats in the North Sea and the Channel. Beneath Belvedère Park one can still find the large and unique command bunker and a kitchen bunker.
When there was no air threat the staff would work from Villa Sandhaghe In case of an alarm the staff-workers could use a tunnel to get into the command bunker.
The V149 was a large command bunker of which only three were built. The other ones were built in Utrecht (Befehlhaber 1. Sicherungsdivision) and in the French town of Angers (Stab. Admiral Atlantikküste). The bunker in Utrecht has been demolished.
