I've really needed a better oscilloscope and a proper logic analyzer for a few years now. I finally ponied up and got what I think is going to be a really good one for me, an HP 16500C. But before I can put it into service, there are a few things I want to fix.
It's too bad the CF card didn't work out for the HDD replacement but that wasn't really required at this time so that's fine. The fans were a massive improvement, I recently added more noise deadening material to the closet where my server is and this was going to ruin that effort. So I'm happy with the results.
Pt2 will be along next and I'll try out some different tests and ways of using this thing. It's really complicated though and I'm still getting to grips with it.
