I got my hands on the new Hoyt SR25 riser and Metrix Formula limbs, and in this video, I unbox, tune, shoot, and score with it to see if it lives up to the hype.
I tried to run a condensed review, however this still ended up at near 1 hour of the final product. I used to run 2 videos for reviews, the first was unboxing and initial setup and the second was the shooting part of the review with final thoughts. Do you prefer that method or these 1 hour long full reviews?
This setup promises premium performance and “optimized” limb design but for nearly $2,000, expectations are high.
Here’s what I found:
• Setup and tuning were quick and easy
• The limbs felt very smooth
• The new colors are sharp
• But the limb finish had some major issues
• No VertiTune system, which limits tuning options
Lancaster said that they would reach out to Hoyt Warranty, no reply as of the posting of this video.
It’s dependable, it shoots fine, but… it just didn’t wow me for the price.
