Once both sides of the frame were built, it was time to connect them together and prepare for the joists.
We installed joist hangers to make the joist installation quicker and easier later on. Most of the joists were spaced around 16 inches apart, with the first and last joists sitting closer to 12 inches from the ends to line up with the inset TuffBlocks.
Just like the first stage, each block was levelled with compacted base and gravel underneath. Depending on the slope of the ground, some posts needed to be higher than others, but none should sit above the joists themselves.
