The journey of the frisbee started not as a toy, but with a pie tin! 🥧😮 Back in the late 19th century, students at Yale University discovered that empty pie tins from the Frisbie Pie Company could soar through the air if thrown in a certain way. Shouting "Frisbie!" to alert passersby, a flippy, floppy flying disc game was born! 🏫🥏
Walter Morrison, in the 1940s, propelled the idea forward and invented a plastic version, calling it the "Pluto Platter" to entice thoughts of UFOs and space adventures. 🛸🌌 And voila! In 1957, the toy company Wham-O caught wind of it, renamed it "Frisbee," and our fun, flying discs found their way into parks, beaches, and gardens all over the world! 🌎🌳
