This week, I wanted to talk about how TV shows and society have somewhat romanticized autism traits and how that has affected me. For reference, some of the characters/shows I'm talking about are Temperance Brennan from Bones, Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, and Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds. Don't get me wrong - I'm not mad at these and I typically really enjoy these characters, but making it seem like they had these "symptoms" without giving them a diagnosis I believe affected me.
