When did Rare first know? Who raised the alarm, and why weren't those warnings acted on?
In this interview, I sit down with @crudmaster who was one of the earliest members of the Sea of Thieves community to publicly raise concerns about a child predator protected by the community management team of Rare. He shares his timeline, the evidence and warnings he says were brought to Rare's community management team, and why he believes those concerns were ignored until the allegations became impossible to overlook.
We examine the decisions, the bizarre suppresion of Rare's community and the questions that continue to divide the Sea of Thieves community as Hollywood gears up to tackle on a Sea of Thieves film project.
Whether this was a failure of communication, moderation, or accountability, the controversy spilled over into the mainstream for but a brief moment that led to the publication of this interview. And it doesn't seem like there's anything actually being done about it which has discouraged many from disengaging with Rare and Sea of Thieves.
