If you find yourself lacking inspiration when you're creating music (particularly on using a computer), I've laid out 5 steps that I've used repeatedly to kickstart my creative juices and create music, with the intention of ultimately releasing it to the world at large.

Here's a quick list timings where you can hear me go into detail on each of the 5 steps:

0:18 - Listen to as many genres as possible
1:30 - Separate the process of songwriting from production, sound design, mixing, and mastering
4:55 - Change the instrument/synth patch you're using to jot down ideas
6:33 - Write just one musical "hook" and build out from there
13:16 - Deliberately make something BAD--you might take away an idea you actually really like!
