Remodelaholic | How To Winterize An Above Ground Pool | Remodelaholic @Remodelaholic | Uploaded October 2022 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
It's time to winterize the above ground pool it until next year. I took about 2 hours today to get it all ready and closed up for the season. I try not to put it off too long, but I noticed leaves falling into the pool and I didn't want it to be a bigger job that it had to be.
I have been leaving the water in all year for the past two years without having to drain the pool entirely. It has worked out great for where we live in central Utah.
Below are the steps I took to winterize the pool.
1. Clean out all the debris
2. Treat the water
3. Remove ladder
4. Put on the solar pool cover
5. Backwash the filter
6. Close up the outlet hole
7. Disconnect and remove the pump
8. Drain the filter and set to winterize
9. Lock down the final winter cover
