This video is to help anyone who is struggling with the GT7 Human Comedy mission - Race 8 (Maggiore).
My normal content will resume soon.
This race is not about outright speed although you will need to be able to put in some good laps.
It is about race craft and strategy.
The race and AI cars are set up to disadvantage you so get used to the idea and race accordingly.
Your car will have terrible under steer which can destroy your front tyres so make full use of the kerbs to get good lap times.
Do not go over the limit or you will get a penalty.
As long as you keep at least one wheel on the red and white kerbs you will be OK.
Most of the AI cars will try to spin you as you pass them so get in there first.
A small tap as you pass or running them out of space is all that is needed.
Ramming them may be satisfying but will cost you lap time.
Figure out who you are actually racing against (usually Rubilar) and adjust your race strategy accordingly.
I decided to use the Mazda
Medium tyres
Two stops at laps 11 and 20. giving 11, 9 and 10 lap stints.
My aim was to control the race pace to limit the race to 30 laps as it is easier to win with 30 laps rather than 31.
I fuel saved in each stint for a few laps as refuelling during pits stops is very slow.
This allows shorter pit stops but keep an eye on your fuel and do not push unless you need to.
If you can average mid 1:58 laps with a few high 1:57 when chasing down Rubilar then you can win.
Do not give the back markers a chance to spin you off and be aware that they totally ignore blue flags.
You do not have time to be blocked by them so be harsh.
