There are so many kinds of loafers that plenty of them are plenty casual — if you've got a pair in brown or suede with a nice wide toe, you can totally wear them with shorts and a t-shirt. And yet, sometimes it can feel "wrong" to wear loafers with the KING of unambiguously casual apparel: the jean. Maybe it's because of its origins in workwear combined with the fact that you can't do anything approximating "work" in loafers, but whatever the reason is, I decided to reach out to a professional tailor and menswear guru for tips on wearing jeans and loafers.
