Welcome to MSR Field Service, our helpful series of videos that guide you through all the care, repair and maintenance you’ll need for your MSR gear. This video will show you how to retreat and reseal the waterproof coating of your MSR tent fabric.
The waterproof coating of your tent can start to flake or wear either over a long period of time or if it is put away with even the tiniest amount of moisture present. Fortunately, you can re-treat your tent in many cases and make it as good as new. If the fabric is highly sticky all over, however, it might be time for a new tent.
You will need the following: gear-safe soap, a dish sponge, rubbing alcohol, ground cloth, waterproof tent sealant, a rag, and DWR gear spray (optional).
