In this episode I show the full testing process using Sonarworks SoundID Reference. I use the supplied acoustic testing measurement mic with its calibration files in the Measure app. Then I apply the correction using the new integration with the Universal Audio Apollo audio interface.
Because the room is treated and I’m happy with the results from 300 Hz and up, I show how to restrict the correction only to the modal range below the Schroeder / transition frequency. The correction applies subtractive EQ to put less energy into the remaining resonances in the bass and sub range. This is a best practice for applying room EQ in a fully acoustically treated room where primary reflection points have been treated with absorption to create an RFZ reflection-free zone.
