This video was produced when the laboratory operated as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The laboratory is now the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). In this presentation, the NREL Regional Energy Deployment System (ReEDS) team provides a training of the ReEDS model. ReEDS is NREL’s flagship capacity planning model for the North American electricity system. It simulates the evolution of the bulk power system (generation and transmission), from present-day through 2050. ReEDS has been used extensively over the past 20 years to inform a wide range of power sector questions and is available to the public. Learn more about ReEDs at nrel.gov/analysis/reeds/.
